Wishing for a winter wonderland? We’ve got it. The Porcupine Mountains receive nearly 200 inches of snow a year—that means endless opportunities for winter recreation on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan’s western Upper Peninsula.
The Porcupine Mountains Winter Sports Complex, located just inside the entrance of the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, offers a breathtaking view of Lake Superior to skiers and snowboarders in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The ski hill offers 15 groomed trails and four glade trails. With views this special, there’s no rush to get to the bottom of the hill. The ski area is also home to the Snowburst Winter Carnival in February.
Stay in the Porcupine Mountains Ontonagon area to be close to multiple ski hills. Each hill is unique and offers different runs for all skill levels. You will be minutes away from these hills when you stay in the Ontonagon Michigan area.
